I first came across Dr. Arthur’s name through forums and blogs in 2012. Liposuction was never on my mind then even though I was already fat. When I reached 74kg, my thighs skin start to ‘crack’. I decided then it was high time to get myself back in shape. Through diet and exercise, I managed to slim down to 64kg. Even though I lost 10kg, not all my body loses fat. The only place that loses the most fat is my breasts which became unbalanced, while the rest of my body still remain fat as before. T_T
It was then I remembered reading about those great reviews of Dr. Arthur earlier. I decided in 2015 to go for liposuction and fat graft to breasts. Prices apparently increases every 2 years so it is more accurate to check with Jennifer Cotto for more details. She will send you a few emails including going for the annual blood test. The blood test was not really a pleasant one. The 1st nurse took my blood must be new. It was painful and the blood flow stop halfway. X_X Then a second nurse took my blood. Surprisingly, it was not painful and blood was taken fast. ^_^ After clearing the blood test and booking flight from Jetstar, I flew to on a Thursday morning for a 5 days 4 nights stay.
Upon arriving Kualanamu International airport, you can reach the railink station, which is the building right outside next to the airport. I paid IDR100,000.00 for the ticket. It was a pleasant smooth ride, comfy seat with ample space for luggage. Upon arriving at Medan station, I was greeted by the friendly chauffeur, Suyono, who held a card with my name on it. Once I reached the clinic, I was greeted by the nurse, Yusma, who gave me antibiotics and painkillers to consume before surgery. Other bloggers told about 4 nurses but there was only nurse Yusma when I was there. After filling up the form, I was brought to my room where I took a quick shower with dettol and change into a robe. Then I was brought down for consultation.
Meeting Dr. Arthur was a pleasant one. He was friendly and explained the whole procedures in detail. What I like most about Dr. Arthur is that he is a honest doctor. Besides my family doctor, he is the second doctor I met who is frank to patients. After accessing me, he told me that as I was lost a lot of weight before, the results might not be as good and I will have loose skin. I also do not need fat graft as my breasts are B cup (normal size). Well, since I intend fat graft to my breasts, might as well balance and up size to D or E. ^_^ He informed me that the fastest way to upsize breasts is implants (which I have no interest at all) and breasts fat grafts to the size I want is a slow process. Still, I prefer fat grafting, the more natural way, well, my own fats. As my arms were huge, he suggest doing 1 arm 1st.
After lunch and payment, I went for surgery. I was given local anesthesia. It felt the similar like the 1 I had for wisdom tooth extraction.
I was awake during surgery but I couldn’t remember anything at all. I was also very sick after surgery for the 1st 2 days. The only thing I remember was throwing up in the living room. I had to take another blood test. My 1st blood test was normal but 2nd blood test shows I got potassium deficiency. Not sure what’s that but basically, I had to eat lots of bananas. I got a bit better on the 3rd day and well on 4th day.
Sorry to those who I had inconvenience during this time.
Thanks to Yusma who had to take care of me, clear up my mess (vomit x_x) and massage me in my room (I was too weak to go down then).
Special thanks to Dr. Arthur who had to take care of me and check up on me regularly during that time, even late in the middle of night.
There is a food menu which you can choose for lunch and dinner. Most of the foods are quite oily for my taste but for a meat lover like me, I like the only vegetables Indonesian style rice (quite similar to the mix rice from Malay stalls in Singapore). There are also movie cds in the living room which you can watch. But most of the cds were mixed up and/or spoilt, which will jam halfway. TV channels in the room were all in Indonesian. I gave up watching them and turned to my laptop instead.
I went back on the 5th day which is a Monday. Compression clothing is a MUST. It really help alot in healing. I wore them for 2 months.
1 year later
Left arm before lipo: Upper (near armpit) 13.5″, Middle 12.5″, Lower (near elbow) 12.5″ (measured when arm relaxed at side)
Left arm after lipo: Upper (near armpit) 12.5″, Middle 10.5″, Lower (near elbow) 10.5″ (measured when arm relaxed at side)
I still have those 5mm scars on my arms. Even though they had faded and now look like my 20 year old chicken pox scars.
